EPISODE 2 RELEASED

We are VERY please to be able to bring you Episode 2 of TV-Palace (we rock), the first and only TV programme for 3d artists.

Big shout out to my main hombre Squid for doing the excellent work on video editing and sound again this month. We are doing this on an astonishingly small budget and what Squid is doing is nothing short of incredible.

So, content. In this episode, as well as the occasional amusing jibe against our great chums at Curious Labs, we also have the following;

News
Comment
A Review of 3DS Max 6 Animation by Barret Fox
Showreel Expose with Pete Draper
An interview with Lars Johansen from the Moving Picture Company
A Review of the Nvidia FX1100 Quadro PNY
The Arrival of POSERMAN
Hands On*

*[Hands on this month is two parts, the first part covers going out on the road to find good reference material with your digital camera. After aquiring our pictures we then head back to 3d-palace HQ to model using our pictures as reference and materials.

we apologise for the wind making a lot of the outside sound inaudible, subtitles will not show up properly on the 56k version, so I shall be providing a transcript later on for people who are wondering what I am shouting over the wind noise.

Also, whilst the end model was made in Max, the processes I used were chosen to suit most of the main 3d packages, so there is no reason that you cannot go out and do this yourself.]

For people who complain that they cant understand as I am talking too fast, TS.

For the first time we are offering a 56k modem version so that people who are not blessed with broadband are able to watch along. Its a 15 Meg download, so people with a 2 hour cutoff will be able to download this.

The full bandwidth version will be released for ALL COMERS for 24 hours. After that it will go to SM access for a month, then revert to free access again. During this time, the 56k version will remain free to download. For those of you wondering why, we had over 90,000 viewers of TV-Palace Ep 1. Multiply that by 167 megs and do the maths. Thats a lot o bandwidth.

For anyone wanting to be nice, please set up a mirror with the full version on, give it to a friend on a CD, stick it on Kazza, p2p, bittorrent, anything else you like. You can distribute the UNEDITED version as much as you like.

Cris

Cris, another great job and I learned something again from the tire tut that I hadn't thought of before, I'll give you 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count, yup you're right it had to do with texturing.
However, there are a few points i want to make.

1. Gives us more of those Barbie doll scenes. (I'm a dirty old man)
2. I would like to see Jon's cheerleaders in the next TV-Palace.
3. Keep your shirt on in the next film..PLEASE!
4. Well..I'll skip 4.

Nice job! Oh ya! You have to get the Squid in front of the screen one of these days.

Peter

I've not had a chance to watch the first yet, so that will be downloaded to add to the 90,000 peeps already. And that is incredible by the way.

Enjoyed the show Cris, I liked your Poser commercial, hehe. The Lari interview was good but Lari didn't seem to enthusiastic about his work, even when you kind of pushed him to try to be, heh.

I'd like to see the 1st episode if it's still up? Didn't see it around anymore and couldn't get it yesterday cause I'm not a member yet.
