importing/viewing .skinnedmesh

Hi guys, not quite sure where to put this, but I guess this will do. (if not, just move)

I'm currently modeling a Recon(sniper) from BF 2142, and I want some good references, but I can't find anything good :/ So I figured I should check the models from the game myself, but the problem is.. how?

I've been looking through forums and through the folders, and I've found some .zip files with .skinnedmesh files, this should be something like a model with textures and animations if I've gotten it right. But how can I view these files? Either by downloading an unknown program or by importing it to max with some fancy addon?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
