| | | Texturing in photoshop
Hello all, i was just wondering if anyone knows any good tutorials on how to texture in photoshop, i was mostly looking for tutorials on how to make tutorials that are dirty, or how to add dirt/grime and basically just fading colors, thanks

If you can't find one on that list we have here then I don't kno where you will  Photoshop Tutorial Sites... Add Your Favourites!
If it is specific things your are after then I would suggest tutorialized as they have a search facility for there tutorials, having said that so do most sites

i went through like all 60 pages of photoshop tuts at tutorialozed, nothing about like adding dirty or stuff like that ill try those other sites, thanks man

for example, if i had a texture like that, and i wanted to make it look like people have been walking on it and its dirty and stuff, i cant find any tutorials explaning how to do that.

rust, scratches but no dirt

the best sugestion i can offer is to work with photos. find an image of what you're after and go from there, it saves heaps of time, but it also gives a better result. www.game-artist.net has a texturing tutorial i believe, but its with scratches and rust and worn paint, not sure if its what you're after.

i have a picture but its too perfect, im trying to make textures for a subway, subways are dirty and nasty, not picture perfectly clean, thanks eagle ill check out that tutorial

ok, then here is what you do,
Get the floor texture you want to use and make that layer 1
Make a new layer and go FILTER --> RENDER --> CLOUDS
Then set that layer to OVERLAY
And adjust the opacity till it suits, this shoiuld give you a rough of what you want, I am not near a PC with photoshop on it so that is off the top of my head, but the theory is pretty sound.
