searching for matter painting tutorial

Anyone know where to find one? can't seem to find a good one anywhere, they usually tell u how they did it but nvr tell u how to do it.... would be cool if theres a vid tut out there somewhere that teaches u how to get that really professional matte painting look. Like 3d palace, has some great vid step by step tutorials. I'm a noob to 3dMax Studio.

www.mattepainting.org is the only decent site that I know of, but I'm not sure how many tutorials there are for integrating matte painting with a 3d/compositing package, as a lot of it is often Photoshop work.

Hope it helps.

btw, Andy, I'm not sure if a game-dev site will have much in the way of matte painting :P although DA probably will have some stuff of varying quality.

What do you mean by a matted painting? Like one on a canvas or turn a real picture into a panting? Or do you want to put a fake paper mat onto an image? All of them can be done some are easier than others. I can try to help you if you want but its been a while since the last time a turned a photo into a water color. But if you want I can give it a shot at try to figure it out again for you.
