3d-Palace Administrative Problems (go go September)

Im currently working through a few problems in the 3d-palace office at the moment - the main ones of which are that the DVD duplicator and the laser printer are both playing up at the same time. Now, laser printers, even though they sound expensive, are not really a problem to fix however the duplicator is a massive problem as for the volume of DVDs that I need to put out for 3d-palace to remain open, the dupe is a critical part of the equasion. Costswise I had to save for months to purchase it, its over a year old and its out of warranty now - I can probably get a replacement for about $1000 plus postage if Im lucky.

What does this mean for you my dear, beloved 3d learning person - well, first your admin is getting through fingernails at a fair old pace and second DVDs produced are going to have to move to "ye olde wayse" for the moment - ie paper printed labels on disks and slow duplication methods. It will be easier for me to come to your houses individually and teach you I suspect

ANYONE with a DVD duplicator sitting about that they dont use, please let me know - especially if its a primera or similar. Sticking labels on by hand isnt that long a process however manual duplication of DVDs one at a time is a damned nightmare.

Failing that, you can always donate to 3d-palace at the usual paypal@3d-palace.com address if you would like or offer useful advice. Meantime I have to get this admin done asap and get back to working on ED209.

Cris

Some progress now. The duplicator will print in black and white making me think that the colour system has an issue - I will fix that tommorow if I can - meantime ye olde duplicator rack that Heroblob donated ages ago has been wheeled out again and prepped for duty!

I just got a brand new laser printedr from Office Works for $100. It's black and white, but I could have gotten a colour for $179. Laser printers have faller greatly.

Sucks about the disc duplicator - I remember seeing the video when you had it making a disc when you first got it. Can't believe it's been a year already. Time flies, eh?

If she works in B&W then go with that - probably cheaper to print in B&W than colour.

Keep us updated. When I get a deposit from my next commercial gig, I'll keep you in mind, mate.

:EDIT: Did you hear that Meg? Guys can marry other guys now. So...this is awkward, but I mean, if they can do that, that is pretty much it for you, isn't it? I mean you as well pack it in. Game over.

I'm sure we went through the logistics of using your children to manually burn/print DVDs

I'm going to be buying a copule of DVD's (download versions)soon, but at the rate the Mr's (Boss Lady) goes when I want something then it may be a little too late to contribute some dosh to the cause.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could get a few members who have said DVD's to make copies and distribute within their areas to help out during your Duplicator Issues??
