computer troubles

this has been a pain in my butt for months now. blue screen of death (atachments)

now i HAVE updated my drivers on both my mother board and my graphics card. i find defragmenting my hard drives helps but even after i do i still have 49% fragmented files which is rather annoying. i don't know what to do any more.

trying to make an iphone game in maya so i set up some lights in the high quality rendering mode to show my work to the investors. but thats slowing me down to a crawl. its 6000 tris not 60 000 i dont see why it should be having such a hard time with this! i cant even render this

as a single image. thats 5 renders stuck together in photoshop

what can i do? i need some major help

and im as technical as polygod is hot so i need you to pretend your talking to a total idiot...because you are :P

Well, the error you get on your BSOD is an nvidia error, so I would assume it's a video card problem - maybe try uninstalling then reinstalling the latest drivers.

I told you, reformat. That's the solution to every windows problem.

Nuke from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.

100% a graphics card issue fella. If you have updated all your drivers and what not check your hardware itself. Make sure it sits properly.

actually I've had Nvidia drivers before myself. i formatted and reinstalled, that didn't work too well so i just waited for the new ones which was only a day or too... but thats on my end.

ok there heres the deal. this is my pc

packard bell pc
# AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor Type
# Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
# 512MB DDR2 RAM
# 80GB Hard Disk Drive
# Multi-Format Dual Layer DVD RW Drive
# 256MB nVidia Geforce 6150 Graphics
#Boston (Asus M2NS-NVM) Motherboard

and this is my mother board

Core - Boston (Asus M2NS-NVM) Motherboard - spec_boston - Information and Instructions - ISTART 2380 - PB82105101 - iStart - platform_amadeus_istart - Desktop

now it has a Geforce 6150 attached to the motherboard. i upgraded with a 8600gt 2 years ago and added a new dual core processor a few months back. i never uninstalled my old graphics card drivers and i never added anything to my new processor, i just stuck it in and it worked. could it be my old graphics card acting up next to my new one?

and i found this
Rollback Drivers - NVIDIA Forums
should i do this? is there any risk?
