The mans a lightweight, for $25000 you can join my Uni, I know dick about modeling, but I can guarantee you wont remember 2 years of your life once the course is over

Yes, but will I get to room with crazy people in a slummy housing project? I think that was a major selling point to Olblue's school. |

I live on a farm, you can share the barn with the rest of the crazies (cows), plus you get free milk

Sheep, Pigs, we got it all, might be a surcharge if you want the Goat though
You also get the famous Uni game of cow Roulette as a few of the cows are actually Bulls, makes for an interesting blind folded milking game after a few beers, peolpe have died playing this game, so you will have to sign the disclaimer first.

Does that include a Friday Night Special or is that considered intramural sport? You need to advertise more, come up with some marketing materials, maybe a sponsorship deal.

This is Uni every night is special. Still awaiting the censorship to lift the ban so we dont have to take it underground.
Rule 1 of Cow Roulette is never talk about Cow Roulette
Rule 2 of Cow Roulette is never talk about Cow Roulette
Also we do have a dog born at 3D Palace Head quarters itself, which will soon be as big as a cow, but you touch her at your own peril - lol
p.s. sorry for the thread hijacking, but it seemed to be going down to these depths anyway, if the thread owner doesn't approve I will clean it up no problems.

I've got a First Class degree in Interior Architecture, but taught myself 3D on the side and now I'm working in a design practice and working as a freelance visualiser/ animator.. and I wouldn't have got the contact with the design practice if it wasn't for being the best in my class at uni :P
£30k well spent in my opinion, I effing love my job and I'm only a graduate of 7 months or so..... |

University Eduction is all the same i think across most universities and courses, a load of rubbish!
I got a degree in Aerospace engineering (2.1) at a red brick uni and end up feeling that it was a waste of time....
From my understanding of the situation universities want students to pass, thus they make stuff easier and easier so anyone that can get in can pass with next to zero effort. They don't want to kick sudents out as they lose money that way. Also kicking sudents out for cheating doesn't happen anymore beacuse the students can take uni to court and it is often difficult to prove that they have cheated. (This comes from a lecturer, it confuses me as well)
In the end you go to university to get a piece of paper to help you get a better job.
If you want to be really good at something you have to be completely obsessed with it and spend almost every waking hour doing it.
Going to university with the attitude that you are going to be taught is unfortunately naive. The reality is you are mearly given the opportunity to teach yourself and get a gold star if you have done well.
================= RAMBLE BELOW ========
Another point is lectures in engineering are researchers first, generally they do not really know the stuff they are teaching to first/second years that well as it is so basic they more have cursory knowlage of the subject and most just reuse lectures notes written by someone else over a decade ago (not that much of a problem cause stuff like fluid mechanics doesn't change).
Also I will re-emphasis this point lectures are Researchers first. They lecture so they can move up the ranks to professor and cause it gives them more money.
With sciences and engineering the lectures don't need to be able to apply that knowlage in practical way, such as for designing an aircraft, this is not there purpose. There purpose is to develop new techniques which after a decade of proving these techniques work and are robust then get applied practically.
However on a course in 3D it is all about practical application of that knowlage maybe the current method of hiring lectures based on there research is not apporiate for courses in 3D???
By a lazy student you got a degree by coincidence rather than design (I HATE lectures!!)
