Terrain altering question

Hi everyone

I am having some major difficulties creating terrain for my 3D scene.

I have this geodetic(??) plan (AutoCAD) with terrain heights as dots and not contours.

I have tried moving vertexes around, cutting edges, etc..., but everyting was messed up.

Any ideas what would be the easiest way to do this?

Thanks in advance, Matej

Hi!

I don't know if this helps or not but in the compound use the terrain option... but I really don't remember if it works with dots...

Thanks! But unfortunately it didn't work with vertexes.

I am trying with splines and terrain option right now.

your best bet probably is to trace the dots with splines to create the contours, which yuo can then use like a modifier on or something to make the mesh, i dont know, its getting late, im tired, ill help more tomorrow

Does it have to be 100% like the original terrain? I usually cheat here and there a bit because in your viz you probably wont notice small changes in the terrain, just make it look right If it has to be close to the real world, then do what zero_hour suggested, start tracing the points with lines and then use the surface and cross section modifier to create the terrain.

Thank you all for tips!

I did what zero_hour suggested and it came out quite well.
