Ultimax Apocalypse (done in C4D, of course)

I've recently started working on another 3dpalace training DVD, the Ultimax Apocalypse. This is my progress so far, after video No. 14. I am enjoying modeling the Apocalypse a lot! It's a great tutorial, and another 3dpalace training DVD I can highly recommend. Next up is the big ass gun...

This is looking fantastic.

Has it taken you a long time to get to this stage and do you have much more to do before it is complete?

Heard the Ultimax mentioned several times but I haven't seen many pictures of it at an advanced stage. Not entirely sure what it is supposed to be whether it's some kind of giant walking mech or a monster vehicle. Anyhow look forward to seeing your progress with it.

Thanks a lot, everyone, glad to hear you like it!

@Frobisher
I started the Apocalypse two weeks ago, and on most days I did at least a little work on the model. I'm taking my time, I guess. I'm certainly not rushing through the videos. Every component gets its fair amount of tweaking and checking.

The screenshots show the left arm of the spaceship, which will be mirrored in the final model. So this is more or less the first half of the Apocalypse. There also are two videos additionally covering the modeling of a small fighter ship.

Like oleblue has mentioned, this is the spaceship variant of the Ultimax series. Indeed, there do not seem to be many Apocalypse threads here at 3dpalace. There is one, however, which was started by the author of the training DVD prior to the release of the video. You can find some nice screenshots of the finished model there:

Thanks, Tihomir!

Your posting is a reminder that I should get back to work... :-) I haven't done one bit on this model the whole week because, among other things, I've been busy preparing a video tutorial I'm uploadiong at ShareCG as I'm writing this. Hope I'll find the time to make some progress with the Apocalypse this weekend...

This does look very cool. The lighting seems a bit weird for your WIP renders, can't put my finger on what's specifically wrong though.

Argh, I'm definitely going to have to start a side project, haven't done any 3D for like 5 weeks.
