| | | A Winter's Day - InProgress
I started work on an idea I have: a pregbot looking out a hospital-like building into a snowy lanscape, and in the background, something similar to a glass dome. Here's the concept. I actually made it for the current speed painting challenge over at 3dtotal, but then this idea kicked me in the head. I'll try to finish it, but I plan on drawing the background (either in PS or on paper). Well, here's the pregBOT concept (I know the foot sucks) and here are some screengrabs out of Maya.

nice idea of putting some bot into a winter scene, I can imagine that will get a "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" touch.
can I probably get six of your bots to pull my sleigh?!

Thanks guys for the comments. I drew a little sketch the other day, but I need to redo it. Only did a little bit on the bot, still trying to figure out how the hell should I do the knee/elbow joints and the shoulder/hip joints. Thinking of something similar to the human body, but I need to experiment on it first.
Also, pheebs, you should be ashamed of yourself wanting to put 6 of these robots in front of your sleigh. They're pregnant!...use 12. :P

How about a ball and cup joint, should do the job unless your going for more realism, plus they should fit in with your theme. Great start by the way

Thanks for the idea, but I was ahead of you :P. I already started working on the ball and cup joint and think I'll stick to that. Just need to find out how to make some sliders to control the movement (I don't want to rig it and I hope it'll be a time saving idea).

Cris uses sliders in his ATMT tutorial if you have it. surely rigging it will save you time?

As it's just for a still you can just link up through the leg/arm etc and just rotate the joints to get the pose, easiest way.

But it's no fun that way FLUX :P
Also, lovingsaskia (Allen if I'm not mistaken) I'm using Maya. Creating a slider in Max is too easy for my taste
