I like the first one too... I think what I'll do is mess about with the values and shadows and go from there. Thanks.

I have a couple of days off and this thread grows by almost 3 pages!!!!
Looking awesome mate, one request
After the comp as you wont have time now, can you try out the SSS Skin Shader thingy as I reckon it would look awesome on that guy.
And with your ability to learn things about 5x faster than most it shouldn't take you long

Yeah I actually planned on getting some knowledge on that whole thing after this anyway. I think for this project, however, the meaty butcher shop look goes well enough for him in this scene. I will definitely be checking it out for my hobbit and such after this. Thanks |

I much prefer the last render to the first torch lighted one, reason being..
..the torch-light creates a unintentional secondary focal point, the problem being is that the torch light grabs my eye, and in doing so I almost forgot that the wheelchair is in the scene. Its draws focus from what is supposed to be happening in the scene, and thats a shame after all the work you have put into everything. Also its a "Scary room", not "scary dude in a torchlight".
Awesome!!

Well Im done I suppose. I need to learn more about Mental Ray lighting because I felt blind going into the whole thing. It was a fun project and I want to thank all you guys who commented, critiqued and left feedback because I sure as hell wouldn't have finished it without the support. Good luck to anyone who entered and may God have mercy on our bloody hands.
(p.s. If it's too dark, turn your brightness up... but we don't need no stinkin' lights, suck it up! muahahaha) |

It looks so great, I'm going to give you 4 stars. 5 if you explain how you did the fence. I'll wait for a bit then rate the thread.

Looks amazing,
I particularly like the chair, for some reason that really works with the scene.
Obviously you cant win this competition being an American, but good try none the less :P
