One I have just completed

Hi Guys sorry I haven't been around for a while but really been studying max to get the best from it. I have been playing with particle effects on one of the models I had been working on. Learning to texture on another one and learning to animate on another.

I have posted a model of a ship that has been designed for a game. This is the one I have played with textures for but its still early days for my texturing to be honest. I personally don't want to spend to long on the texturing side of things as I am a modeler and not a texture artist. So the sooner I find a friend that lives near by and is more into the texturing than the modeling the better,. As it will mean I can just hand the model to them and say there you go ....make it look pretty.

Anyway more post will come soon, but I am still very busy with work and studying, but before I go I would like to say that some of the work I have been looking at in the forum is stunning. Well done to all.

Looking good, although looks to be wayy too many polys for a game. Cylindrical objects chew poly budgets to death. Textures do need some work, looks like just a noise map applied to the diffuse with the balck channel changed to blue.

Still looks nice and neat.

you lost me right at the point of the word textures

It not an area that I am very comfortable with and as I said I am really looking for someone that is willing to texture the models for me. I love the modeling and learning new stuff but I have always hated texture drawing. As for this one is just a photograph of a copper pipe with the colour changed to blue and tiled so that its repeated, with a little shiney and reflection added for good measure. Nothing technica really. The model has two parts a low polly for the game and one for the intro movie which will be a pre-rendered animation. I don't have to do the textures for that one fortunatly.
