38 Lightning

So basically, this is my first ever project I've completed using MAX.
I followed the 38 Lightning tutorial MAX came with.

I know this is the "finished" forum, and I know this isn't textured, doesn't have the glass canopy, or propellers, and looks nowhere near complete, but this is where I'm leaving it. I may come back and add some textures when I improve, who knows.




First go at modeling this plane, and first render ever.
Let me know what ya think?
(I know I suck at rendering and modeling, this is my third day using any 3D program, let alone MAX.)

You sure you can count mate cause thats ace for 3 days... hell that looks way cool no matter how long you been doing 3D

Thanks, but yeah only three days.
Took me about 3 hours to do that. (So far I've spent 7-8 hours on MAX.)

I really am impressed! I spent much longer than 8 hours on max when I was messing round in 3d and i dont think i could have done that.

Good job. Dont need a title to tell what plane that is. Dont worry about textures and the little bits and bobs, that will all come in time. Also very refreshing to see Max tutorials that ship with the application getting put to good use. This was one of the first models I ever made way back when.

Alright, here's the wireframe, and then Smoothing + Highlights and Edged faces
