the modelling seems quite good however i'm not a great fan of the materials. i know your going for a tooney look. but the shell looks metallicy/plastic. the body has a good texture but lacks the mucusy/wet look of snails.

Yup, totally agree.
Modelling looks cool, body needs to look more wet and slimey and the shell needs to be less metal and more shell.

Try lowering or softening the Specular light on the shell and bumping it way up for the body. Like everyone else said good job on the model, I like it.
