Awesome.

Even though it looked great and you may be done with it I have some opinions:

- I didn't care for the music. Duke is awesome, but he doesn't fit a showreel in my opinion.
- Your breakdown of the final scene before you actually showed it struck me as odd.
- The breakdown also was a little too quick, and having seen that scene I think you should have shown the whole thing in all it's glory without music instead of rushing it like that. I also feels odd that you skimped on that scene in this reel when it is your very best work.
- I know it's more work, but showing 3 complete scenes like the last scene in your reel I think would make a much better FX reel than showing a lot of tests.
- Also I'm not sure what still images of interiors were doing in a FX reel.

Thats a really nice reel in the fluid effect senario. I think you need to branch out a little more though and show more effects other than fluids. Being a VFX artist requires more than just understanding of fluids imo. Still got some really nice effects in there though.

Also not enough showing of your contact details. You need to make future employers see your details loud and proud.

Good Job!

Pretty good on the most part. I would have to agree with TwiiK and Ragu on a few points.

-The stills in an FX reel are a bit random
-A few of the tests weren't at the same standard as some of the others
-I think the scene breakdown should be removed and have more of the scene animation
-Bit more stuff that isn't smoke and fire

I really liked the intro, was a cool effect. If the text turned into smaller chunks like particle size then I think that would be even better; Blade style when the vampires get murked. Generally it was enjoyable ツ

Hey thanks for the comments guys! On the mental ray stills - these were needed for the reel, it's targeted, that's all I can say now.
I totally see your point on needing less, but good shots. Some of that stuff is really old, and it shows. The next thing I'll do is to take the first shot, rework it, make one more as-cool-as-i-can shot, take the protoss-vs-wall one, and make a reel of just the best stuff, with breakdowns.

Break downs are an essential part of effects reels, it shows you really do know your stuff.

Hi!

I liked the protoss vs wall part (and all the rest)... but it was really quick... You could try and make a slow motion of it and in that slow motion include your breakdowns...

Good work
