Okay, new job....first week....today, i decided to create a scene with my new skills.

From day one ive been compositing models into scenes, tweaking textures, and various other things, but also watched the guy who posts all the shots, n learnt alot just by flicking through one of his PSD's...

Here is a before and after...the before shot, is what id probably usually produce...and the after is the post techniques i learnt today. Funny what you learn by just looking through someones work file, n just by being exposed to a higher end type of work

I created this scene in three hours (I only didnt model the plant, pyramid n balls).....render time was like 1 hour....(i got my render times down too! yay for me)

Let you know what you think for something so quick, it still has ALOT of issues, but i wanted to see what i could pull off if i rendered in seperate elements n photoshoped it all bak together myself

The wonders of Bloom ツ

Definitely adds more atmosphere to a piece.

The circular mask needs to be less strong ad I don't think you would actually see that if you took a photo

Ha, I wasn't referring to a plugin. That's just the technical term for the glow you get around high specular parts.

The method you mentioned is easiest way without getting a plugin. I think the final render guys do one called finalFlares or something that does bloom, lens flare, atmospheric glow etc

You can now buy these chairs at Ikea. Hard to assemble though.

Do an AO pass to re-inforce the contact shadows.
As there aren't any now.

You have some light issues in the corner and ceiling.

ao pass being an "apples and oranges" pass, of course. this is sometimes also known as an ambient occlusion pass. ;-)
