Customise -> Units Setup
System Unit Setup
1 Unit = 1.0 INCHES

then pick US STANDARD
Feet w/decimal inches

Then click on:
Customise -> Preference Settings
Spinners
Precision; 3
Snap: 1.0

I have to say that these are educated guesses, as I stick with metric.

Hope this helps. The spinner to 3 decimal places should help

sorry for this late reply bro I have been extremely busy at work and just got a chance now, look I've changed the precision up to 3 and it's spot on now. I had it down to one thinking that would be 1=1 but it has nothing to do with that. Thanks bro for your help I'm currently working on a new design of a shaker hanging wall cabinet, I'll post it as soon as it's done.
