Prime it up DVD 1 follow along.

Well I thought this would be a steep learning curb, but I was wrong. Basically the tips just made it worth every penny of the £10 cost (for what you get out of it just in time saving explanations)
Chris’s questions are excellent and his running commentary mirrors exactly what I would ask Rob as a total noob , Rob has the patience to explain everything in just the right amount of detail in a language that is not patronising or to high level. They also left in some of Robs mistakes, but then he explains how to rectify them, I like this because allot tutorials skip how things can go wrong and wont show how to avoid problems.

The way you prepare the paints the consistency where worth the price of vid alone
So far I’m up to just before last highlights, basically my eyes gave up as I’m doing 4 at once.

1 Ork assembled but only stuck to base, heads and arms are still free.
2 On my ultra expensive basing rotational fixing table, (its a DVD spindle lol) I just find it easy to rotate the figures as I spray them in a cardboard box.
3 Orks Primed.
4 Shadows and some highlights.

I used a citadel standard brush
Chaos Primer

Knarloc green foundation ( coz the guy at GW said the Emperor had blessed them, think he had a sales drive and commission prayer tbh)
Ork Hide for dark shadow (1) Why? See above
Gretcin Green for dark highlights Why? As before see above.

Next stage lightest highlights and ink wash..

If I have only one criticism so far is that I would like to see some good clear photo stills of the Orks say up in a corner before every stage, just so I can see exactly what Rob means. I tend to paint away while he’s painting; it’s like being in a room of mates happily being nerdy without fear of being burned. The dog scares me in a way I can’t explain.

I will post more as I progress through the Tutorial

Thanks Guys

Online from a public terminal (who knew you had to pay for internet access?) and it's nice to see a WIP! Looks like they are coming along nicely, although I would still use yellow on your base colour for the highlights, but that's just me. One thing missing from the DVD is the metal inkwash - it's just a mix of brown and black ink watered down like the flesh wash (bit more brown than black).

Keep it up, matey. I really want to see the minis finished.

I have been painting a Dwarf Thane for a painting competition and I made the mistake of trying out a completely new technique (to me that is, [NMM] although it has been around for a few years) AND switching back to a white undercoat. I was starting to get the hang of it when I ran out of miniature to paint. There are a lot of balls-ups on it, so I should get a wooden spoon.

I also have no digicam, so picture duties are being taken care of by a friend, they should be up tomorrow.

Ok, here goes: one mini with 'I can't believe it's not metal' technique (no shouting 'I f**king can', either. And apologies for the rather ropey picture) -

Enjoy (and get on with that damn wip, fivetide)!
