| duplicate special problem (characters eye rotation)
i have a slightly complex problem that i'am struggling to work out, basically i have my characters eye deformed inside a lattice(it originally started out as a spherical eye as usual then i deformed it inside the lattice to make it flat, so when i rotate my pupil i follows along the surface of the eye) the characters eye group is bound within another lattice which controls the characters squash and stretch etc. so i can use my squash and stretch controls and my eye still works fine, the pupil still rotates beautifully. However when i duplicate special my characters mesh to make a proxy layer (to help me animate it faster later) the squash and stretch controls still work fine, but when i try and rotate the pupil in the proxy layer, it no longer rotates around the eye, like it does in the original layer. it now seems to have its pivot centered up, almost as if the lattice which held all the pivot points correctly in the original mesh is no longer in effect on the proxy layer eye group. i really need my proxy eye to rotate the same as in my original layer, so my animation controls are all coherent.
if any one has any ideas how or why this is happening or any ways of curing my problem i would greatly appreciate it
