Unhappy Problems with mocap files and actor

I have been using a C3D mocap file on my actor and I seem to be suffering 3 main problems. One is that the neck is acting strange, like a rubber chicken. Second, the toes of the actor are moving in all kinds of directions and not inline with the foot. Third is that the elbows when they bend (like a bicep curl for example) seem to pop out. Anyone have any suggestions to help me on this?

Hi Michele,

I'm assuming you are using Motionbuilder. For the chicken problem, In the Character Settings tab, under Retargeting>Actor>Motion Reduction, you will a Neck Reduction slider. By using this, the neck will be less sentive.

For the toes, make sure the floor contact on the character is set correctly - refer to the help menu if you dont know how do this.

If you are using 7.5 :

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\MotionBuilder75 Ext2\Help\MBHelp75\wwhelp\wwhimpl\common\html\_ind ex.htm

The elbow pop-up is something I've never seen before. Maybe you could send me your file for this one.

Hope this helps,
Cheers,

Marc
