I look in all the web for maya tutorials about cloth and there are a few but none say on how to conform the cloth in a different pose from the Jester pose. If I make pants and shirt I want the model sitting or fighting or with the arms up or one of the million poses you can do to a model, how do I conform the cloth for that pose? never find one to teach that. thanks... Paola

Im new here but already watched most of the free tutorials.
They are really helpful. I learned some REALLY usefull things

My suggestion for the next tutorial woul be character modeling and rigging (including face-poses blending).

It don't have to be very spectacular and the model itself may be quite "easy".
But some tips would be vital here I think. Like "don't do this because later when we rig it, it will cause problems with this and that".
And of course... the rigging itself

as vyeshaun(and maybe others) said some tutorials for detailing would be swell...i'm new to Maya and I need these stuff bad. As for some other ideas I think that some basics on rigging and animation would as awesome as the detailing tutorials.

My vote would be a 3d-palace style mech tutorial with the same kind of detail as armageddon, dreadnought 2, stormbringer, etc. After watching the maya dreadnought tutorial and then looking at the 3dsmax dreadnought2, and armageddon and stormbringer and now crux models, I am feeling a bit envious. I am left wondering if maya is incapable of creating such detailed models because it lacks the modeling toolset of 3dsmax. My own experience has me starting to feel that maya's precision modeling capabilities are a bit wonky.

Maya is more than capable of creating such detailed models, it all depends of the users knowlage of the package. Cris does modt of the tutorials here, which is why they are Max orientated.

Exactly. And what I want to know is do people just not look at any 3D sites to back up their claims or questions? I mean, go over to CGTALK and look at some of the models done in Maya. Their awesome.

Look, I use Max 99% of the time and use Maya only for animating, but I just hate it when people say one can outdo the other or can't do what the other can. It's like, visit some 3d sites and look at the work.

Questions will always come up of which is better; you can't avoid that. And even a loss of faith towards a program after using another one will occur. But I think anyone who casts a stone at any program saying it isn't what another program can do, and only by assumption, should be banned. Immediately. But eh, what do I know?

Now back to Maya requests... how about organic modeling in Maya? Like just a simple character, similar to the 3dbuzz dragon for the max fundamentals. But someone can model a character in Maya instead. I'd like to learn that.

D3D

PS.. where the hell is Elbaz anyway? He's been gone for a while now.
