| |  maya startup problem
i get this fatal error every time i launch maya now.. it worked fine for about a month, then this pops up out of no where.... really bad timing too cause i am having to borrow a friends old computer to finish this project for my class.. any idea on how to solve it? uninstalling and reinstalling maya doesn't work, even moving it to another drive doesn't work... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ya85-error.jpg |

have you tried deleting your prefences? also completly unistall maya including all folders and files relating to maya but make you backup your important projects else where and reinstall maya again and see if it gets rid of that error

how would i go about and delete my preferences? i have tried manualing deleting all folders and files relating to maya, and the error remains.

Delete everything in my documents/maya/(maya version #)/

Deleting the preferences worked. thanks a million! now i can finish this project quickly, (that old pc i borrowed from my friend was real slow on and off in maya, was driving me nuts).
