| | | Missing manipulator on move/scale/rotate gizmo
[OPEN] I am missing the selection arrows that appear when you scale/move/rotate and object in my orthographic views for Maya 2008. I think they are called manipulator arrows. Im not sure, but they are the arrows that you grab when moving objects and such. The arrows are gone now and all thats left is the line without the arrow. They appear in one orthographic view but not in the others. Can anyone help me out with this? I've had this issue in max and it was simple to fix but for some reason i cant figure it out in Maya. Thank you very much!

i hardly used maya but you posible scaled the gizmo itself, saying that you still see the lines,
try hitting one of these [ ] - +

Looking through the maya 8.5 help file I found, to show the manipulator when you click an attribute name and allow dragging. In the Channel Box, select Channels > Settings > Standard Manips

Just see if Show Manipulators is checked in the Show tab of the viewport. If that ain't it, kiss that manipulator good bye because it's gone and you will NEVER see that thing again. Trust me, I know....
...I had this chick once.. and well, I don't have to tell you what kind of advantage it is to being a 3 pronged manipulator...

Thank you for all of your help. I actually figured it out a couple weeks ago. I serached and searched and found that all I had to do was download the new drivers. Im on a 64-bit running Vista so I needed to download and update my drivers. Everything worked just fine after that. Thanks again.

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm running Vista 32-bit though.
What drivers did you update? Was it the Maya SP1 update or was it some Windows updates as well?
