i think the problem is more related to the geometry itself, wht solutions will it be????

It looks to me like the surfaces are non-planar. I would either: add some extra geometry to smooth the transition or play around with the render tesselation options.

I'm sure someone more versed in Maya than I might have a more elegant solution, but that's why I use Lightwave

Looks to be a smoothing problem with those faces. I would just select it and go up to Normals and select 'Set to Face'. That should fix it.. that is if its a smoothing problem. I'm no pro at Maya but I've had this look before and that fixed it for me.

Try to use the "set normal angle" command under the Normals menue.
Or select all verticies and use the "merge" command with a low tollerance.

Hope that will fix your problem!
