ummm.... do you have any keys on controls that have it rotated that way? or is it with every single file? are yi mporting these files from some other software (ie max) that has a different coordinate system?

looks like you are importing objects that have been created/modified in another program. if you bring stuff in from another program like max or zbrush, the model will be rotated and sometimes scaled incorrectly.

if its happening from just opening up .mb files, then i have no idea unless maybe you are opening files that somebody else has touched. then i might go into my preferences and under "settings" change the "world coordinate system" up axis.

omg i fixed your problem, your camera is twisted. look at the axis at the bottom of the screen shot the up axis (y) is on its side

yeah, you've got Z up (which screams "I come from MAX!") maya (and most everything else are y up, z back. odd that you've got the grid on the xy plane, though should be xz

Go to Windows->preferences->settings. In the Settings section you select which axis you want to be up. It looks like you got Z checked, but it should be Y
