Rain running along a surface

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone can help. I would like to try and simulate rain falling onto some surfaces (a roof of a building) and showing the rain flowing along the surface and gathering into a puddle.

If anyone could help or give me some advice it would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Nick

i think u just need the techsmith codec to watch those vids.

this is a tough one, i know it can be done. i just can't remember how to do an effect like that. i'd look into maybe goals, partricle collision events and emitting from a surface maybe.... but i'm just not sure. it could also be possible with gluids or you might want to check out something like glu3d http://3daliens.com/glu3D/index.htm

I could show you how to do it in MAx, but I am going to guess you are a Maya man, so I cant really help you out there.
