You can apply video as a texture to a plane, using the video texture node, if i remember correctly.

A little tip, try not to use abreviations such as "thx".

Eat3D released a tutorial about this same thing you might want to look into. By the end of it, you will know exactly what you're asking.

Actually this is a very rare case where I will tell someone to go and buy a Gnomon DVD. There is a Maya Matchmoving DVD from Gnomon called Matchmoving 101, and to its credit, it is very, very good. Shame I cant say that about the others I wasted a steaming pile of cash on...

Also about a 2d tracking software. How much do you know?
Ever heard about Parralax? If there is no parralax in your scene you may as well hurl the Boujou box and its contenets straigh out of the window, as you wont get a good soloution.

If you have a translating (free-move) camera move, then parralax should be contained in your scene (backround and forground objects moving at different speeds, the application can then calculate between the speed varience the 3rd axis for 3d space or the Z-Depth of a 2d image). If its a nodial pan (still camera just moving along its axis pivot in a "panning" motion) then you are going to 100% need to rely on scene measurements, height of camera, lots and lots of suvey data.

You should always have lots of survey data even when using a 3rd party 2d tracking software like Boujou/SynthEyes/Match,mover Pro, ect, ect.

Measure everything and draw out a placement scene of everything to cross reference those measurements for the proxy geometry build.
This is not a quick and easy process. The more information you have, the better the matchmove soloution will be.

Thats why survey data is of great importance ^^

Good luck!!

thank you for your suggestion mr. ragupasta.
is parralax freeware? or shoul I buy it too?
by reading your opinion, I think parralax is more powerfull than the other.

Thank you
