lighting and rendering -Lamborghini render query

i have modeled a lamborghini and i am trying to render it using mental ray to look like the picture i have attached below, however i am not really sure where to start. If any one has any suggestions on how to achieve such a render that would be awesome.

The car has a mi_car_paint_phen as its material, and the only lighting is a plane with a white shading map

i cant help you there but i know this guy can, younglion. he is rendering someones car over at simply maya.com. here

im getting there, decided to use a brighter environment, ....just been working on the car paint...any critique or suggestions very welcome..........

whats that smudge in the bonnet? have you got depth map shadows on again?

iv checked depth shadows are turned off i only have ray trace shadows on...do you know what else could be causing the smudge?

depth map shadows. click on your scene lights and check there and in the render globals
