how to render tail lights....

i wonder if any one could help me create a material, shader... or suggest a good way to render rear lights, so i can render my tail lights in a similar way seen in the picture...

lol iv got both those tuts, but neither of them explain how to render the actual rear light plastic realistically, i was wondering whether a bump map would be needed in conjunction with a certain material but im not sure...

iv managed to get this through just a basic bump map consisting of vertical lines, but its not gr8,

add an mental ray mia shader and go into presets, plastic will be in there
