Question Sub-D and Smooth Mesh Preview

Hi,

does anyone knows what's the difference between the convertions:

smooth mesh preview -> polygons

polygons -> sub-d

I've tested both and the smooth mesh -> polygons looks better for the object I'm modeling now but I heard that many ppl convert the obejct in polygons to sub-d (after they're done with the modeling). I wonder why?

Thanks in advance.

sub-d deforms better than a tonne of polygons, that's why.

you can choose what you want, i always use polys because I'm mostly working on games and it becomes habbit after a while. sub-d is for your movies and pre rendered stuff.
