Question Exporting a scene with script in .exe

Hi everyone,

I have a scene with a MEL script that simulates a racing game and I also have a car on the scene. After the script is executed and the play on the timeline pressed you can move the car around with the keyboard arrows. Is there a way to export or save the whole scene as an .exe file? So that everyone can open it without chances to edit. (Like you can do in adobe flash for an example).

Thanks in advance!

Im not aware of any way to do that. The only way I can think of would be to export it to some other software designed for that sort of things.

Essentialy your trying to turn maya into a game, you might be able to make the scene so people cant edit it not sure, but it would still be a maya file.

How good is your game programming? I'm thinking along the lines of Supertom. I too am not aware of anything on the market can can do what you want.

You may wish to find a prgrammer that is happy to add your models into his 3d-engine and go from there, apart from exporting like supertom said you may want to start learning how program games.

My best guess is that you need a compiler to turn your code into an .exe file, maybe a python compiler but I'm not sure.
You might want to ask the question in the Digital Tutor forums, they are basically a Maya site.

I've asked the same question on 2 other forums and they also said it's not possible and since I'm a beginner it'll be hard! Also my task on the project I'm working is modeling and not programing... :-(

but if I find it out I will let you guys know...
