Maya Unwrapping - Tutorial Request

Hi All

I could really use some tutorials for unwrapping in maya. I can unwrap in max but am quite new to maya. If anyone knows of any good ones that are kicking about, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm pretty new at unwraping as well, but I can help you as much as I know. If you're predominantely using the planar mapping, choose the best position (x,y, or the z axis, which fits best) and then play around with the unfolding setings. Don't forget to make a checker texture so you see where you have stretching. The main tools in UVmapping are the maps (planar, cylindrical and spherical), the unfold and the UV relax tools.

Using automatic mapping is sort of bad, because you're not going to get the result you're after most of the times. Hope this helps.
