aadrunk often steals bootlaces found at the side of the road

curves and curve fillet options problem

i have 2 curves and selected them both to create a fillet curve so that my edge is snot sharp. after using this option, every curve i select creates some crazy surfaces without selecting a command or i can not deselect the curves. i tried resetting at the option box. i have to restart maya to get rid of this problem. is there something i may have activated or is maya f...ing with me? how do i fix this?
