What is used in this pixar render?

iv been trying to study some pixar renderman renders, i wonder if any one could tell me what is used in this render, in terms of final gather, ray tracing, etc etc, Im proberly asking a stupid question but im a bit of a rendering newbie, so i thought i would ask any way,

Any help would be great

I read in 3D World that "Cars" was the first Pixar film to use raytracing, so there probably isn't any in that render. I don't think they were using global illumination back then either.

no final gather, no ambient occlusion, no global illumination, no raytracing. just lots of nicely placed and tweaked lights and tricky tricky tricks.
