Talking Mapping Co ordinates

Hi All,

I am new to maya, I need to know how one goes about veiwing the mapping co ordinates of an object, ie - the layout of the co ordinates. I undestand how to change the type of projection which is used on the model but want to know how to look at the mapping layed out flat...

window > UV texture editor. Also, if you want to see a checker map on the object, you need to aply a new shader on the object, and in the shader attributes, go to colour , click the little box next to it and add a checker map.

This will sound like a silly question, but also how do I scale the uvs, where is the tool for this inside the uv window ?

Basically, there are the same tools as in the persp/ortho windows. "W" to move, "E" to rotate and "R" to scale.
