kasker's stuff

Hello peeps. Figured I'd start a thread for small projects I'm always making.

Heres a torus knot of one band that intertwines with itself or something. Modeled in ma,x different renders in zbrush, and put together with PS. There is a distance blur, lighting and texture.

Hey Dude,

You may need to bump up your samples for the renders, so you dont get any pixelation.

A few crits:

First off, I think because of the smooth, the outer "rims" appear nickel like (like the size of a coin). You may want to even out the spacing between those verts to smooth it out and make it somewhat less noticable.

Second of all, the texture seems like it's picking up every face, is this how you intended it?

Cool model though, you may want to check into eric_r's post about maths modeling:

Maths Models?

Thats exactly where I got the inspiration for this

Sometimes when importing an .obj into zbrush it looses all smoothing ( probably my fault completely ) The plaster material picks up edges very nicely though so I left it. Ill put a link to the plaster material its really great, the zbrush forums I got it from is down atm though.

Here's a neat one. The cross section shows 16 bars but it is really only 4 bars.

Make a torus knot from extended primitives, and have fun messing with the values
