well If you going to have your portfolio online its a good thing that the once who going to watch it have to registrate on some community.

I have to say, signing up to see a portfolio would not be something very high on my list.
A lot of people don't like signing up for anything like that in general.

Agreed. Dont use a portfolio that requires people to sign up before you can view anything - its a shit idea and orkut is a crap site. Even Deviantart is better than that.
