Artificial Reality Creations - Portfolio

Hello, I've just joined 3D Palace after recommendation.

I like to say thanks, introduce my company and what we do.

My company is called Artificial Reality Creations Ltd, we are a young 3D visualisation company based in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, England.

Please visit our our website, have a look at our work and please give us some FEEDBACK on our work!

http://www.arc-studios.com/
http://www.industrial-animation.co.uk/

Thanks
Graham Cammock

Added by admin;

As mentioned ARC is a young company, we're very good at what we do and enjoy our work intently.
However we do lag behind / struggle now and then with the sales / marketing side of our business.

(This is a question for anyone!):

Would you have any good tips / sugestions / advice for finding Industrial 3D Animation / technical CG work?

Do you know of any related directories, clubs, organisations we can sign up to etc?

Any such tips that address the sales / marketing side of a 3D Viz / Animation business would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Excellent.

I'm a technical illustrator so this is right up my street. I do Isodraw stuff mainly (yawn) but this has given me a nudge to get some colour in my portfolio.

What progs do you use?

Thankyou!
Glad you like ARCs work.

We're a young company (12 months or so), so comments / advice is greatly appreciated!

All our work is created around 3DS Max, and we use Combustion for composting & VFX.
Obviously Photoshop sees a lot of action, and we use Particle Illusion now and again for quick particle FX.

What type of illustration, do you do?
Adobe Illustrator work?
Do you design brochures etc?

Thanks

I do mainly civil aircraft stuff out of Germany.
All ATA-100 spec so there's no room for anything fancy. Just parts manual line work using Isodraw. I complile parts list as well and write assembly/disassembly procedures (Anyone still awake?)

3D's just a hobby at the mo.

I'm surprised you don't mention a CAD package for this stuff. I tried Inventor for a while I'm now looking at Pro-E

Now that I fixed your post for you an answer

First Wednesday in Teeside would probably be an ideal place to meet new contacts - Call Teeside university and ask for Mark Elliot of the Digital City - its a gathering of creatives in the area that focusses on mentoring, training and marketing for smaller companies as well as providing free beer and bizzare breadcrumb covered mushrooms and other wierd food.

You will get a chance to network with people there, who can then assist you probably. Worth a shot Teesides number is on their website

Best of - also 3d-palace summer bbq is on in july - write it in your appointment book if you are a Sunderland company as we are only 24 lines away

Whoa...

Jean-Pierre: Thanks glad you liked the render, hoped you liked the whole film!? http://www.arc-studios.com/FlameGuard_3dvfx.htm
Show me some work also.

Spludge: Thats sounds like very interesting work. It beats working with down-lights and valves.

You say that you only treat 3D as hobby at the minute?
I believe there is a very fine line between 3D hobby & 3D career.
I went from 3D hobbiest to 3D proffesional in a short amount of time. I still perceive all my 3D projects, my company & career in the same light as when I was a 3D hobbiest, (it's just one big 3D hobby). So don't build too much difference.

Doubtless the creators of 3D-Palace still largely consider what they do 'hobbyesc'? (Even though they are now squillionaire play boys).

Also, I do use Pro-E now and again for CAD translation (with Polytrans)... but for translation / exporting purposes only.

Cris: Firstly, chars for sorting the post error for me, you must have super powers! Secondly thanks very much for the advice, Digital City sounds ideal! I had heard of it (forgotten), I graduated from Teeside in 04 (BA Computer Animation (2:1)), lectures mentioned it on numerous occasions, but I had no interest at the time. Will definately look in to it.
Also the BBQ sounds good, may come and meet you folks!

In return for your sound advice... a diamond of a tip for any Barbi: GO TO COSTCO in Gateshead, and procure Certifed AA (Thats double A) Aberdeen Angus beef burgers...

Hohorrrrr... You will NOT regret this good sir!
