Smile Posting in the Mentoring Area

If you are posting in the Mentoring Area, please go ahead. Just be aware that the main crits and main advice is from the Mentors - I actively encourage all members to praise the work of the new artist wherever they deserve it and offer your support whenever you can.

We were all new artists at some point, encouragement and support is one of the best motivations for improving your skills, so lets really do what we can to help our new artists out and become mentors themselves one day!

Cris

I think a lot the guys here are letting their urge to say seomthing in the thread that already has a mentor get the best of them. im not a mod guys, or am i trying to be one, but please no matter how bad you want to say something, don't, if you think the guy is wrong maybe pm him or something, I just think its going to defeat the purpose here if we just start chiming in whenever we feel like we have something valuable to add.

my 2 cents

I agree with this. From now on any extra mentors will have their messages removed (Im not recursively doing this for older posts)

Johnman smells faintly of something similar to wee
Hello Olblue,
Just wanted to check with you - I have recently purchased the Cutty Sark DVD set - I have started my model and am to the point of raising the decks - using 3ds max. I am totally pleased with your tutorial so far and am looking forward to getting in way farther over my head.
My question being - is there a form or thread at 3d palace or elsewhere to discuss Cutty Sark. - I have seen a couple of threads on the model ship world but they seem to have died out - with no replys forth coming. I am new to 3ds max and am using Cutty Sark and the 3d armed launch to learn. I do have some questions and am looking for the best place to post them.

Also I had to chuckle - Yourself - an Englishman - modeling an english tea clipper - sipping a cupacoffee ??
Not very british you know old chap.

certainly appreciate your advice in this matter.

Hey John,

Any questions you feel you need to ask, you can safely put them into the chat forums, as thats a place with a high volume of traffic, and you can ask away as you like, or if you feel like you are really new then you can post in the "New to 3d-post here" forums.
I took the liberty to remove your email address from your post as...

1. Its not really required as there forums are pretty busy and you quiery will be looked into
2. It stops any chance of spam emails you might recieve from WoW gold spammers and the likes from finding your email address and spamming your inbox to hell.

Hope you enjoy your stay!
