(3DS Max)Modeling and texturing a futuristic City - mentor needed!!

I starting a little sci-fi project and I need a little help in how can I make a futurisc city in max.
But I need it not that complex so I can animate it!

Hmm, ok, lets see... (getting some english lesson for a big post)

I need a huge city for a scenario in the background (not picture) and some huge buildings (low poly, of course) that so I can make my ships passing by!

Sure, I can make some boxes and such, but I need details and low poly and donīt how to do it. Another thing is the creation of the building and scenario textures. I know is kind huge but any help will be very nice!

To keep things low poly but with detail, use images and place them on your boxes and cut in the geometry. For example, you have a texture of the front of a building. Place that texture on the box and make cuts on the box where the extrusions might be and remap it after that.

http://www.3dtotal.com/ has a "making of urban environment" tutorial that shows such a step. I think it would be in your best interests to check it out.
