2 basic max questions

I am busy with the audi tt video tut and...

1) The preview blueprint texture rendering (in the viewports) is really bad quality although the texture has a very good resolution (when i render it properly it looks fine).

How do i change the quality of the textures rendered in the viewports?

2) 'force 2 sided' is off, although the planes (with the blueprints on them) are still visible from both sides...

how do i make a plane visible when viewed from the side with the texture, and invisible when viewed from the other side?

1) Go to 'Customize' on the top toolbar, select 'Preferences' at the bottom of the rolldown menu. Go to the 'Viewports' tab and click the 'Configure driver' button at the bottom. Select/tick off (whatever it's called) the 'Match Bitmap Size as Closely as Possible' for both 'Background Texture Size' and 'Download Texture Size'. Then click ok, ok. You may have to restart max for the changes to take effect.

2) Select your plane, right click and choose 'Object Properties', tick off 'Backface Cull' under 'Display Properties'.

That should fix both your problems.

If you can't find it then you'll have to wait. I'm in a hurry so I can't do more for you now.
