Maxterdam 2009 has tickets left. No, continue reading. Right.

A block of students that were coming have cancelled en-masse. The reasons for this are varied however I have some Maxterdam tickets that were otherwise going to be sold that now have to be sold before the Maxterdam 2009 event.

Because of this I need you the 3d-palace membership, even if you do not want to or cannot afford to come this year, to think. Do you know someone who might want to come? Well? You might. Maxterdam is in Amsterdam, thats pretty damn easy to get to from Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and lots of other countries. From the UK its 99p plus airport tax using Cheap Flights | Book Flights Online | Jet2.com and you can of course get the ferry using Ferry Crossings, Ferries and Mini Cruises from UK - DFDS Seaways or the channel tunnel and get the train up.

Anyway. IF you know someone who wants to come or can be explained to about it and persuaded to come then let me know. If they book you will get a bounty - a commercial download OR DVD or 6 months sponsor membership. No joke.

Why do I want these sold? There are people coming right? Yes there are - HOWEVER because of the cancellations I owe money on the training venue - if I had known less people were coming I would book a smaller one, as it is, Im in the hole for that venue and contractually obliged to use it. I get two more people on board for Maxterdam and the venue is covered, all bases are covered and we are good.

So - what can you do?

If you are on the fence about going - call me on messenger or IRC and I will answer any and all questions - I can even find you a cheap ass rat hovel hotel to stay in (You dont want an expensive one).

Ask your friends - your student buddies. Your co-workers. Amsterdam and a 3ds Max Workshop. Its a great combination.

Ask your wife or Girlfriend - There is AMAZING shopping there - and I can provide you with a chapperone and guide to the good boutiques on the 9 Canals.

Ask your bank balance. Sure, you dudes in the USA, I know its expensive however this might be one of hte only times you will ever get to go. UK people - its cheaper than a weekend in London. Euros - jsut get on a train allready.

Amsterdam is not all prostitutes and weed - Im sure a lot of you think it is - and yes, there is a lot of that and yes, I always have a hotel in the RLD for some reason - thats because its cheap as hell to stay there though and the pizza down there is excellent! Come though and see the sights, take a canal cruise, see the narrow streets, try the food, see the art, see beautiful history everywhere. On thursday evening we might take a cruise on a canal boat - perhaps the excellent pancake cruise - two hours of slow cruising on the canals and infinate pancakes and fillings. Then after that a small (seriously) drink, go watch the street performers then a sleep.

Friday we will have some food, have some drinks and walk from the Centraal Station to Liedesplein stopping at various watering holes and ending up in Chaos Bar or Korsikoffs - if you dont want to join us for that then thats fine too - we will also be relaxing earlier that evening for a meal and coffees. Come along.

Seriously though, if you want a great time with new friends learning new skills - come to Maxterdam 2009 - if you cant come, tell someone who can and help make this another awesome Maxterdam year (4).

In all seriousness would love to come and meet some of you guys and learn some stuff but a bit out of reach for me this year. Maybe in 2010 aslong as it doesnt coincide with the World Cup South Africa 2010, or of course maybe you might host it in South Africa.

Ok. Big news on Maxterdam that I will reflect in the first post as well.

Maxterdam is still going ahead, however, I have had to make important changes to it in a couple of aspects because of a major letdown in attendance. What happened is that a group of 6 seats was booked by a group of friends who all do 3d and wanted to come to Maxterdam - unfortunately two have dropped out due to illness and as the remainder of the group lost their unofficial team leaders, they folded as well. As you know I do not put a deposit on people signing up to Maxterdam and, as the seats were full, I went ahead and booked the venue.

Anyway - the problem lies as such - I currently have a non full class and cannot afford to pay for the two days that the venue will take place on. Because of this I am going to have to make the event Friday only. Running 10am to 5pm. There are changes to the schedule on teaching and what will be taught and there are also some bonuses in what will take place. In addition because its one less day I will be making you an offer shortly so please be patient whilst I explain the new itinerary.

9:30am we will meet up and drink coffee outside ABC Treehouse, 10am will be a fast introduction then straight into mechanical work lasting until mid day when we break for lunch. (12:30pm to 1:15pm) After this we will continue where we left off with the mechanical work leading into particle chase systems for management of producing a race system. 2:30pm I will pass the floor over to SECRET GUEST who will then give you a two hour workshop masterclass on particular effects. This is a free supliment to the course donated by SECRET GUEST and will be excellent for all levels of user. 5pm we will close as usual, go back to our hotels or homes, get changed then go out and get a beer or three.
We will actually cover everything that was in the two day course, difference being it will be slightly more intensive than before.

That's a real shame, maybe you should think about taking deposits next time.. I think like a lot of people I would have loved to come had it not been for my dire financial situation.. the cost of the course not a problem really, just extra costs for flights, hotel and food etc.

Although - Maxterdam 24th - one day - leave 7am via jet2 and return that night - a bargain at £80- return
