Hello folks.. So who's planning on attending either festival this year? I've never made it to Animex (nor have I crossed the Atlantic - maybe one day

) but I've been to Animex's sister fest here in the Deep South four years in a row now. Two years ago I helped Pete Draper guide about 8 workshop-goers to LSU's campus to do his tornado workshop because the Garmin we were using was completely outdated. It was fun chatting with him and learning some of his techniques. He's truly a funny guy. I believe I had already discovered 3d-palace back then, but he recommended this site, as well as all of Cris' tutorials.
For anyone in the states (or willing to take the swim) Red Stick is an excellent festival to attend. Each year I go, I find myself wanting to quit architecture and shoot for working in games or animation. The festival has a very charming, sort of indie feel to it, yet there are always professionals from VFX, the game biz, and the animation world showing their work and usually offering workshops and portfolio crits. I noticed this year it has moved from April to sometime in the fall.
Anyway, it's a ways away, but I live in Baton Rouge where the festival is held if anyone happens to come by, I can tell you where to get good blackened alligator tail...yummy.
