Call for Entries: Shapeways - Bring YOUR 3D Into Reality Contest"

Here's a rad competition for 3D artists out there. Shapeways, a leading global community for 3D co-creation production is inviting all 3D artists to submit their hottest object designs and have it be produced into physical tangible products by Shapeways.com and showcased at SIGGRAPH 2008. The submissions will be accepted from July 29th 2008 to August 7th 2008. The top 10 finalist will be announced on August 11th. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on August 15th, 2008.

To submit just sign up for the site on http://www.shapeways.com/beta. Register as a BETA user and use the BETA code: ContestSiggraph From there follow these 3 steps:

1. upload your object design (STL, Collada, X3D)
2. Upload a rendering representing the finalized object
3. Enter the tag "SIGGRAPHContest."

Im not entirley sure about this...

That site shows me nothing, every link is a infinate loop back to the home page. If you were Beta testing the site, that would be done before you post about any competition. Your post was short, you have no example images to show.

Im not going to hand over ANY of my work(s) without some kind of clarification of this. The front page looks a bit coyy to me, in paticluar an article I read about a dodgy Phishing site had a similar layout.

Apologies for my anality on this, but if I think its not what it seems I will remove this thread, and ban you. Community safety comes first.

Shapeways is a place for 3D artists to print their art, not just display it. For this contest the artist will keep the copyright of their design. Shapeways will just use it as a printed object to show off Shapeways printing.

In the real world, you would have had to pay quite a bit to bombard us with the amount of advertising you just did. Typically, one would courteously contact the site owner and request to make such posts.

Also, you do not link us any legal forms or copyright agreements or entry forms. I'd be an idiot to submit anything.

By the way, and correct me if I'm wrong, the Competition Forum is an internal forum managed by olblue himself and NOT for personal use. I don't see ANYONE else posting outside competitions here, let alone a first post. I smell a ban.
