Seriously, I don't know a tutorial that covers such basics stuff but you can try the XSI-Chess Set (right here on 3dPalace, and it's free!). It's a great tutorial for beginners.
You can always ask specific questions on this forums. We'll be happy to help you

Welcome to the wonderful world of XSI .
As Kristopher said, digital tutors has some good tutorials for beginners. The "Introduction to XSI" sets go over all the basics - viewport interaction, selecting and moving etc.
There's also "The Artists Guide to XSI" which you can get from the Softimage site.

Zerflag's Minigun tutorial is also good for beginners. Understood the basics of the interface with it.

Various training videos, all free and with pretty much every subject you could think of. You do need to register but it's free and well worth the minute it takes.
