Hopefully I can get a new beast to handle the high poly work I would like to do. My current configuration leaves alot to be desired.

I am hoping to get both a desktop workstation and a notebook so I can work anywhere on this project.

my current system fails after about 3 iterations of sub-d.

2.0 Pentium
768 Mb Ram
GeForce 6100
Hanovon 5x4 tablet

seriously lacking...

But this machine has been okay to learn on. It just takes a while to render I think this current project is taking about 30 min to render.

Well enough complaining, I can't wait to get home and tackle this project some more.

honestly, there's no real reason for you to ever subdivide to 3 levels. in fact, 1 should be sufficient for almost EVERY situation.

Okay guys another small update.. Just blocking in some details that give the model some scale. There are a few issues that I will work out with the headlamps, but I think this gives it a more retro look.

Can I make a small suggestion? Hold off the materials until you have a bit more. No offense intended but they dont add to the model and at least in the last picture kinda make it hard to see what's going on

Okay so I had to try and figure out how to do a wireframe render.

Hopefully this one will be okay for the moment until I can get a better render.
