W40K Black Templars Battlebarge

After a long period of inactivity I've resumed my 3D hobby and decided to start a new piece from W40K universe.
After the theme variation on the Phalanx weapon model, that I'll use as base model for a new idea; a sort of Atmospheric Sentinel), I'll try to model a Space Marine Battlebarge conversion to the Black Templars chapter (my favourite) by means of spline and poligonal modeling tools.
Probably I'll introduce a second (or third) level of detail exploiting the Greeble plugin capabilities in a selective manner.
I don't mind of hard edges generated by its application on a polygonal model ... my rendering engine will take care of them thanks to a built-in fillet shader .
I'll post the first pics very soon, meantime, here it is a reference image of the spaceship.

Thanks for the comments
@ budweizzer & sbcarshops: I'll try to do my best on it
@ vinspeed: you're right ... I have the coffe machine at my side (your spaceship looks cool for being your first model)
@ Vide_infra: you could say "not another battleship !!!" but you know, I love their design ... adeptus mechanicus vs space marine ... it's a hard game.

Let's start with the rendering and the hidden line screen capture of the central part of the ship hull (you note I always start from this point).

A little advance on this part: the battlebarge heavy weapons.
I'm currently working on the upper deck with some more detailing than the priginal model.
A little note on rendering test environment settings:
- skylight with intensity = 0.8
- main light (rectangular with area shadows, color: pure white, intensity: 0.75, high shadow samples)
- fill light (rectangular with area shadows, color: RGB(250,231,201), intensity: 0.4, high shadow samples). The main light, as the fill light, is at 90° from camera direction (so main and fill lights are at 180°).
In terms of materials, the model has a simple blinn shader (diffuse: 151,164,170, specular level: 59, glossiness: 42).

Nice details. I like where you're going. I think if you can keep up with such details all over the ship, you'll get an awesome model in the end

Very nice start andrea1969!

I'm shure you'll deliver another excellent piece at the end...

The only flaw is not being from the glorious ALPHA LEGION!!! For the Emperor!!!

Thank you mates for comments.
@Dmacb: finally I know you're addicted to chaos
A little advance in the project: upper deck main structure completed.
Next step will be the two lance turrets.
Hope you like it.
