Grumman F7F Tigercat

This is my first attempt to model an airplane. I chose the f7f tigercat because it doesn't look too complex for my first attempt.
It looks like this: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16...072003-124.jpg

I am currently fiddeling with the main shape.

C&C welcome!

Here, a wireframe just for you.

Edit: I am redoing the canopy, because I just noticed that its far, far from correct.

Now, thats more of a tigercat canopy. Still got some smoothing errors going on there, i'll do them first thing in the morning.
And thanks for the links, giant551. Lots of good reference.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but i have been extermly, uncomfortably, busy with life in general. Bah.
But hey! I managed to start on the engine last night!
I believe i got the propellers wrong, they look too thin.
I dont know how much effort and polys im going to put into the engines, because my computer is getting a bit old for handling heavy polycounts :P

Bah, I talk too much.. C&C please!

As you see, I was to tired to see that the propeller was out of position when i rendered the first one, and I believe that the engine is out of scale. Correct me if im wrong :P

looking good, your right the engine is slightly too big in its necelle you should be able to see the cylinders as well also there's a little point on the nose. Looking very nice overall and looking forward to seeing it all glossy blue with textures !!!
