Hi,
I need to do some Flower artwork, so i decided to do a bunch of flowers in a vase. For the environment i chose an Art Gallery, and im happy with the environment, with the exception of the white dots in the background. Why are these produced? The light is a copy of the main light. Anyway i need help with the vase and the flowers. The materials look "off" and dont look as good as the room. Any suggestions?

What are you using for the render and what are the lighting settings like? I do believe it could be as simple as upping the samples. Because I am seeing graininess in the dark areas as well. A little more detail, and I'm sure we can solve this one.

Otherwise, I like the scene, it looks really cool. That's a nice burl texture on the table there.

There is a flower texture painting tut over at 3dtotal.com which may help.

My only other crit is that the flowers should be lit up more as they are the centre piece of the picture.

The two lights outside are Target Direct lights, with just these in the scene they do nothing but add the bright highlights to the floor, they have vray shadow peram with Intensity 3.
Vray shadow settings:

Smooth Surface Shadows
Area Shadows
Sphere
U,V,W: 80
Subdivs: 20

then there are 4 omni lights with 0.1 intensity and the same shadow settings.

Its currently rendering atm, once its done ill post the G.I. settings

I've managed to get SSS to work, and you can notice it on the tips of the leaves. I had to really crank up the light multiplier and suprisingly the thicknes... What do you guys think?

Looks very nice now. The volumetric type light effect you have got there gives it atmophere and real character. Very nice work

It's much better now. Like ragupasta said, the volumetric light effect really adds something.
