Desworks often steals bootlaces found at the side of the road
Customs House

Hey all. I've been hanging round these forums looking at everyone else's stuff too long so I decided to put up a thread of my own. This is the start of a customs house model I'm working on for a uni project. I'll post the concept work once I get to a scanner.

And the wire:

Any and all crits welcome.

Yeah, I realised that seconds after hitting post. But with luck, I'll make some screw ups later on to justify it.

looking good mate, but there are some things i will crit if you dont mind. i see you're trying for a low poly model. you also seem to have a bunch of detail where it isnt needed. on the left part of the building i can see an edge loop going arround verticly, you could remove this line and keep the same shape. try to be ruthless with cutting down geometry.

and one more crit, in the part that is facing us i can see from your roof edge you have 2 really skinny triangles stretching up to the point in the roof, skinny triangles are not good. try to see what you can do about removing them.

as this is still a WIP i am sure there is plenty of more stuff to come, and i look forward to seeing your progress

Yeah, I'd noticed those nasty triangles myself. Small update:

And, of course, the wire:

wow I'm liking the design of this.

Ever since the launch of Viva Pinata i've been into funky building designs.

I too am looking forward to seeing this textured!

Are you building a scene (like a little town or something?) or is this just a standalone model?

Great stuff!

It's more than a little scene. I'm building a whole island!

The little boxes are where my little town shall go. then I just have to add a jungle and, of course, a voodoo cave and I'm ready to map!

Not quitting any time soon. Another house.

And the wire:

I'm doing very low poly buildings at the moment just to get the silhouette's right. Then I'll be detailing the ones that need it.
